  This company needs to do a better job in communicating with new customers: I shopped around for someone to get a burner on my gas stove to work. The gas was not flowing. Harrison Appliance seemed to have the lowest price, and was able to show up the next morning. Others wanted 2 to 6 days before they were available. Harrison said their cost would be $44.95. I understood that if parts were needed they would cost extra. I was delighted when the service person assessed the burner needing to be cleaned out with a straightened paperclip from above, nothing to disassemble. He proceeded, gas flowed, and he said he was sorry to tell me the labor charge brought my bill from $44.95 to $85. I called the company and got argued with. I said I would not be paying $85, and that the person who made the appointment with me yesterday did not explain that the $44.95 would have a minimum of an additional $40.05 added if the service person did anything. The man to whom I was transferred said their prices were competitive, and that if I refused the "estimate" I could just pay for the service call. When I said there was no "estimate," he said I could tell the service person to put the debris back in the valve and just pay for the service call. I told the service person that I appreciated his work, and was angry that the arrangement was not clear when it was made the day before. I told him that the man on the phone said to tell the service person to re-clog the valve and to charge me only for the service call. He took my $44.95 and didn't bother to re-clog the gas valve outlet. I wish the person making the appointment would have told me there would be a minimum charge of $85 to do any repair, even if it required no parts.
